Join us for the 4th Annual Pink Out Gala hosted by Colors of Promise, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, which is a community-driven outreach organization whose mission is to increase awareness and prevention of breast cancer, specific to women of color. The event will be held on October 11th at Luxury Venue. It’s a night of education, inspiration, and celebration, featuring food, dancing, and a silent auction. Your support will help our efforts to promote breast cancer awareness and education.

Guest Speakers
Dr. Cheryl Talbert
Dr. Cheryl L. Talbert, DSW, LCSW, is a healthcare leader and researcher with more than 25 years of experience improving patient care and advancing health systems. She serves as Chief of Social Work for the Lexington Veterans Administration Health Care System, overseeing a team of 100 professionals dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care. She earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and Doctor of Social Work degrees from the University of Kentucky, where her doctoral research focused on dismantling barriers to equitable care. A published researcher and national presenter, Dr. Talbert is also an adjunct professor at the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University.
Dr. ShaCarla Rashid
Dr. ShaCarla Rashid, DSW, LCSW-S, is a social worker with 13 years of experience in women’s health, child welfare, mental health, and community advocacy. A senior social worker and licensed clinical supervisor, she focuses on patient-first, trauma-informed care. Her research and advocacy address Black maternal mortality, healthcare inequities, autism in communities of color, and the impact of poverty on childhood development. A mother of three, including two autistic children, she serves on a university Community Advisory Board and is active in NASW-KY. Outside of work, she enjoys family life, strength training, and hip-hop step aerobics.
Rebecca Webb, Survivor
Rebecca Webb is the President and Co-Founder of Community Inspired Lexington, a nonprofit organization that uplifts and guides young people toward making positive choices and achieving brighter futures. Beyond her leadership, Rebecca’s journey is one of courage and resilience. She is a proud two-time cancer survivor — completing treatment in 2015 and facing a second surgery in 2020. Today, she is thriving as a wife, mother, and grandmother, embracing life with gratitude and strength. Rebecca’s story reminds us all that survivorship is not just about overcoming challenges, but about living fully and inspiring others along the way.
